Committee members Hal Sommers, Al Pfugrad, Matt Kircher, Jack Worth, Ron Kolb, Jim Manzuk, Marguerite Walsh, Brian Dunn, and Barbara Seely begin the planning process.
Last Saturday, on a beautiful fall day, 15 residents met in the lobby of Amherst House. Over coffee and doughnuts we introduced ourselves then set out to walk the boundary of the village center and discuss what we saw and wanted to see in the future. The following chronicles the walk and shows issues that we identified. Thank you to the residents that took time to walk through our community and share their insights. The planning process is just starting and open to all. We hope to hear from you!
The village board will appoint the Kings Contrivance Village Center Community Plan committee at their December 7th meeting. If you are interested in serving, please send a letter of interest to Amherst House.
Join village residents and the Kings Contrivance Village Board on Saturday, Nov 12 at 10:30 a.m. in the Amherst House lobby. We are going to meet each other over coffee and then head out to walk the boundary of the village center which includes the commercial center, HRD open space, and Hammond High School. The group will be sharing thoughts on what is working in the center, what isn’t, and what the community wants to see in the future. Put on your walking shoes and join us for this event that kicks off the development of the Kings Contrivance Village Center Community Plan.
Be a part of the process, the plan and the future of our center!
